Last month we welcomed William O’Donnell to the Health and Safety Training team. In this blog, we get to know Will a bit better…
Have you always worked in the Health and Safety industry?
No, I have had a diverse career prior to starting my health and safety journey twenty odd years ago!
Diverse career, sounds interesting…tell us more!
I have been a coal miner, refuse collector, HGV driver, ran a pub in Stourport and spent three years in the army as a Deck Corporal, on one of their Logistics Landing Craft with the RCT Maritime Detachment.
You certainly have got a diverse background, so tell us about the Health and Safety part of your career..
I have worked in health and safety for over twenty years in a range of industries such as healthcare, engineering, councils and educational institutions. A proud moment for me was becoming a Chartered Member of OPSH (CMIOSH) in 2011.
So Will, what do you do outside of work?
I am a committed family man, been married for over 32 years and have one daughter. I am into my fitness and enjoy lifting weights or working out in my home gym. Other than that, I love reading historical fiction novels.
We think with Will’s lengthy health and safety experience and such an array of previous careers, he will certainly be a benefit to our PLT training team.
