IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Workers has been specifically developed for the people who work in the construction industry. Every worker on site needs to understand their Health & Safety responsibilities due to the high risk environment they work in. According to IOSH worldwide over 60,000 people die every year in construction sites and there are 475 workplace incidents every minute hence this 1 day course is crucial to create awareness of safety and health for construction workers.
IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Workers is a CSCS approved certification which means that the skills and knowledge captured in the course enables the delegates to be eligible to apply for the Green Labourer allowing delegates to work at construction sites.
Course units:
- Health and safety issues to be managed in the construction industry to protect employees, contractors, neighbours and others
- The basics of local law
- The importance of risk assessments and method statements and the development process
- Site requirements for the welfare of construction workers on site
- Hazards and controls associated with construction sites and activities including working at height and confined spaces
- Site environmental management including management of waste and ecology
During the course delegates are provided with an IOSH for Construction workers textbook which has been developed to support the theory element and final assessment. Due to the importance of the course we have classroom activities which covered for the application of the theory.
Our IOSH trainers all come from different backgrounds such as Professional Medic, Ex-Military, Mountain Rescue, Industry and are very educated with certificates in NEBOSH, IOSH, First Aid etc. With their knowledge and experience in this field they are able to share their experiences into the delivery of the course and give valuable advice of the do’s and don’ts.
Successful completion of this course delegates are provided with an IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Workers certificate. After the completion of this course delegates tend to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer card for the entry of the construction sites.
